Printing Processes
What is the difference between screen printing and pad printing?
Screen printing is commonly considered for suitable flat or cylindrical surfaces and larger graphic areas. Pad printing uses a flexible pad to transfer an image and may suit selected curved, recessed or irregular parts. The right process depends on geometry, artwork, material and quality requirements. See our Printing Technology section.
Can industrial printing machines print on curved products?
Some curved products can be printed using an appropriate screen printing setup or pad printing process. The feasible print area and accuracy depend on the product shape, fixture design, material and artwork. Sample evaluation is recommended.
Can the same printing process work on different materials?
Not always. Plastics, glass, metals and coated surfaces may require different inks, surface preparation and curing conditions. Confirm the exact substrate and finish before selecting the process.
How do I improve ink adhesion on a plastic product?
Review the plastic type, surface cleanliness, surface energy, ink compatibility and curing conditions. Surface treatment may help with certain materials, but the correct approach should be validated with representative samples.
Machine Selection
How do I choose a suitable industrial printing machine?
Start with the workpiece material, dimensions, geometry, print area, number of colors, accuracy, target output and available factory space. These details help determine the suitable process and machine configuration.
Should I choose a semi-automatic or automatic machine?
Consider required output, labor availability, product changeovers, loading method, quality consistency and investment budget. A higher level of automation is not automatically the best choice for every production line.
Can one machine handle several product models?
Some machines can handle multiple products with suitable fixtures, tooling and process adjustments. Compatibility depends on dimensions, print locations, changeover requirements and whether the models can share the same process configuration.
How can I estimate the required production capacity?
Provide the target output per hour or shift, operating hours, number of print colors, curing needs, loading method and acceptable downtime. The practical production rate must account for the complete cycle rather than the printing stroke alone.
Customization & Automation
Can KLK customize a machine for a special-shaped product?
KLK can evaluate customized machine and fixture requirements based on the workpiece and process. Provide photos or drawings, dimensions, print locations, material and target output so the application can be reviewed.
Can automatic feeding and unloading be integrated?
Feeding, part positioning, transfer, loading and unloading can be evaluated as part of a customized solution. The final design depends on part geometry, production rate, handling constraints and line integration needs.
Can a printing machine be integrated into an existing production line?
Integration may be possible after reviewing the existing line layout, conveyor height, product transfer method, control interfaces, cycle time and safety requirements. Technical information about the current line is essential.
Samples & Print Quality
What should I send for a printing sample evaluation?
Provide representative workpieces, material specifications, dimensions, artwork, required colors, print position, accuracy requirements and any relevant adhesion or durability criteria. Sample quantity and shipping arrangements should be confirmed with KLK.
Can KLK guarantee a specific printing result before testing?
The result depends on the substrate, artwork, ink system, surface condition, tooling and process settings. Technical feasibility and acceptance criteria should be confirmed through sample testing rather than assumed from product photos alone.
What information is needed to evaluate print accuracy?
Share the required tolerance, print dimensions, registration points, artwork, workpiece drawings and any measurement method used for acceptance. The appropriate positioning and inspection approach can then be evaluated.
Ordering & Delivery
What information is needed for a machine quotation?
Please provide product photos or drawings, material, dimensions, print colors, target production capacity, automation requirements, destination country and any special electrical or factory requirements.
How long does machine manufacturing and delivery take?
Lead time depends on machine type, customization, component availability, sample testing and the production schedule. Request a project-specific quotation for the current estimated manufacturing and shipment timeline.
Can I request a customized machine configuration?
Yes, customization can be evaluated according to the workpiece, process, automation and production needs. The scope, price and lead time should be confirmed in the technical proposal and quotation.
Service & Technical Support
What information should I provide when asking for technical support?
Provide the machine model, serial number if available, a description of the issue, photos or video, relevant alarm messages and the steps already taken. This helps the technical team understand the problem.
Can KLK provide remote technical support?
Remote support can be discussed depending on the machine configuration, issue and communication arrangements. Confirm the available support scope, response process and any service terms with KLK.
